A NEW YEAR LETTER FROM KAREN:
For many years, I have used the turning of the year to reflect on what I accomplished, letting go of what doesn't matter, and to set new goals… and to help others do the same. But this new year is starting out a little differently for me. In a matter of hours, I will become a grandmother for the first time! I am awaiting my daughter's call to tell me, "Mom, it's time!" As the moments pass, I sit here writing this letter to you. I've gone from "Wow, this is cool!" to "Wow, time is moving so fast". Then to a total overwhelming in-body "Wow!" What a momentus occasion for my family, especially my beloved daughter Dawn. Becoming a first-time grandmother, (aka "K-Ma",) the future becomes more important than ever. No more time for futzing around. The question rings in its truth: "If not now, when?" From your responses to my recent survey, it is clear that you too are standing at a crossroads, motivated to transform how you do business and lead your life. And of course, heal the world and Mother Earth in the process. Many of you are feeling how precious time is especially as we enter midlife. What you told me you want:
I Hear You Loud and Clear! Your survey responses are bell weathers of our awakening. Each of us is seeking to be part of change--and to learn how to wield our power by transforming how we do business, continuously evolving and thinking beyond the box. It's all about a motivation to be part of positive change -- to become more aware, so we lead by example - employing best practices for sustainable business and conscious leadership to ensure a greater and more secure future for each of us -- as well as for our children and their children's children. Our time is now. Each of us has to re-define our reason for living and how we want to be in our world as well as what kind of world we want it to be. Whether you are an experienced professional or an entrepreneur, success today is all about sustainability and consciousness. Both demand continuous improvement and innovation. And, being brutally honest with ourselves in answering, "Am I truly in sync with what matters most to me -- and to those who keep me in business and happy in life?" Recently, one of my readers wrote in to Ask Karen: Where can I find/develop an effective framework/strategic plan for planning the next chapter in my professional/personal life... getting to the next step, leveraging and using a well thought out plan to do this with other like-minded folks who are creative, supportive with lots of energy?
