Karen's Quintessential Principle of Greatness September, 2006
Catalyze Transformation |

"Okay Universe, what's gonna happen next?". I ask myself yet again! One
moment I'm 20 and then the next I'm waving goodbye to my 50's. My 70's
seem within too easy reach and my adolescence a distant memory.
Everything is changing so rapidly. It gets harder and harder to stay in
denial as I grow older.
Faced with the years piling up behind me, I can't ignore what I see and
hear around me. Every time I hear the news, it's easy to feel a painful
impotence that cuts deep into my Soul. But I am too old for
resignation. The time to act is now. I remind myself everyday that I am
an agent of positive change. We all are. That's exactly why I offer
this month's principle for greatness: Catalyze Transformation.
Experience has shown me that what keeps us on the road to the future,
personally and professionally, is to have a set of core tenets - Quintessential Principles of GreatnessSM
-- that guide us when the going gets rough and when we are in our
"zone". My desire is that our monthly exploration of these principles
will guide you on your road to a great future.

Transforming Lives Out of Balance:
Being a Catalyst for Change
| The individual, transformed, will perceive new meaning to his life, to events, to numbers, to interactions between people. |
| -- |
Dr. Edwards W. Deming |
Approaching the apex of our youthful years, disillusionment spreads
like molten lava burning up all that is not real. It is the primary
task of mid-life to confront our "reality" and to let go of cherished
illusions like the childhood motto, "Follow the golden rule and nothing
bad will happen to you." Or our pollyana-ish belief that our dearest
ones will never betray or leave us…That good always prevails over evil.
Perhaps the hardest of all to swallow are the dreams never realized,
the opportunities now lost to our receding youth - The never will be's.
